Twitter Redux.
I realised I am much more active when it comes to blogging on my Twitter, just because most of the things I want to talk about come in quick spurts and I never feel ready to put them down here on Tumblr. *3* I need to post more of my quick photo-taking spurts here and stuff, but it just keeps going up on Twitpic!!
So in case you are interested, there’s a Twitter widget on my page, and you...

Cornel West.
I can’t believe I had the immense privilege to listen to Cornel West speak at my university! He was an amazing and powerful speaker, the way his voice fluctuates and his hand movements are catchy and addictive. I really hope I have another opportunity to see him again, and maybe one day to even be lucky enough to meet him!
He spoke about many amazing things though, and one of them is the...

Hi everyone! Sorry to not inform you sooner, but I’ll be at Megacon this weekend! Hopefully you were or will be there and we can gush over all the fun we had~
Guess who’s going to buy all the alpaca plushes they can find? (Hint: a girl dressed as an all-white bunny with an eyepatch.)

Hobbies.
I think I have way too many. D= And they’re just starting to pile up as I take more electives this term and get more time to myself. So now where are we?
Japanese street fashion (which include Cult Party Kei, Lolita, Mori Girl, etc.)
General hipster fashion (nerdy looks, space, NOT including cultural appropriations like Native American headdresses and Buddhist symbology printed on...

Hi everyone!
I’ve never advertised my blog to people at school before, as you can probably tell, I’m using a pen name and don’t really post my face anywhere. But I told everyone in my Queer Theory class about my blog and some even followed me!
Thanks so much you guys, I hope you enjoy my blog~ Right now I’m not really posting as much as I’d want to, school has been crazy, but...

Fashion block.
I have been on such a terrible fashion block lately. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Magazines to look at, affordable stores to check out, new trends that you can’t get enough of? I just can’t seem to work with my closet anymore. I think I’m going to do a huge overhaul and get rid of a lot of it soon.
Help?

I GET the historical argument
I do.
If you’re making a highly historically accurate movie about 14th century Scotland or something, I could see why you might argue against casting people of color. Might be kind of strange to see a brown dude in Braveheart, so...

What I learned from wearing my first pair of...
I learned that no one else will ask if you’re okay when you bust your ass on the ground. I’ve learned that even when you’re walking perfectly fine, girls will point and laugh at you for wearing heels to school. I learned that you will be slut-shamed, denounced, scoffed at, and judged for just wearing a pair of shoes.
Wearing a pair of heels means that you are just asking for...

Developing film.
I’ve had a Diana+ camera for a long while now and have a bunch of undeveloped rolls that I keep planning on sending to a wedding photographer to develop, but I started to think and now I really want to try developing on my own! I used to watch my father do it all the time and it has definitely gotten easier since the mid-90’s (at least it seems so, or maybe I’ve just gotten...

So busy...
I haven’t found the time to post here recently. I finally had an open slot to take a creative writing class my last term in college, so I’m totally going to post my 10 minute speed-writes on here to get things flowing~ I even have some photos I can probably put up soon. @3@ I hope you all still have faith in me!

I'm taking a year off next year...
So I’ve made the decision to take a year off next year to study for my LSAT’s and travel, and I realized that I would really enjoy traveling from each major Occupy city and getting involved in each protest there, seeing what individual needs each city has, and if there is a demographic shift between each one.
It really interests me, but I need the money and the place to stay. Not to...

But I can’t help but think
Watching Glee does not by any means make you a social justice activist or mean that you’re not a queer/trans-hating asshole.
That show is pretty fucking offensive sometimes and often perpetuates stereotypes/racism/sexism/cissexism/heterosexism/normativity (and this is coming from someone...

(This is a guest post.)
This is a story about gamer culture, casual sexism, the silence of friends, and its fallout - more or less in that order.
Firstly, context. I’m a recent graduate working as a game designer for a social games startup in New York City, and I identify strongly with other…
