Head Start and work.
So, just because I want to babble about it somewhere, I am so excited for my new job! I just got fingerprinted for a Level 2 screening today, which was a bit intimidating, but hopefully I’m going to be trained in a couple of weeks and I’ll be sent off to do something I love!
Basically, I work with Head Start programs in my state, and meet with certain kids to administer evaluations to...

Sexuality.
The topic has always been a source of turmoil in my life. Ever since realizing in high school that what I felt towards other girls isn’t abnormal, and that there were many other people out there who felt the way I do, I feel like I reached out to an entirely different part of me. But, it was a chilling thing to pursue. I had dated a few guys before realizing I liked women, and I was stuck on...

Tumblr Tuesday!
Today I thought I’d share what I nominated for the “Inspiration” category this week. One of my favorite blogs, stophatingyourbody! It’s a beautiful blog about loving yourself and trying to get over your insecurities. It’s been a great inspiration keeping up with it, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a real feel-good blog. Just a warning though, it may be...

Multicultural Psychology.
So I learned in my Abnormal Psychology class that a very new field is starting to emerge that focuses on being more sensitive about other people’s culture and upbringing when diagnosing individuals as having “abnormal” behavior. It’s Psychology and Sociology 101 to know that societal norms dictate what we perceive as being “wrong” or “unacceptable,”...

Lots of food coming up!
I have almost ten delicious-looking photos from this weekend queued up for you all~ I hope you enjoy! ♥ Hopefully I have some more time this week to write some solid fema-rant material or a review or two, but as of now, I need to get started on my homework. I already have so much!
Have a great night~

The first week has come and gone...
And already it was so busy! I went in for an interview for a work-study internship, am already swamped with tons of reading, and am really happy with my teachers! Sadly, I ended up not being able to switch sections of my class like I originally intended, so I’m going to have to deal with a 6:30-7:45 p.m. class… I stop functioning around three, so I’m not really looking forward to...

First day back...
And let me say it went badly. =\ I’ve been trying to get into a certain class for the whole break now, but I just can’t seem to find an open seat, and the teacher refuses to give overrides. To make things worse, I have the wrong book for the class I’m in to replace the one I can’t get into… *sigh* I’m going to try and stay positive and keep attending both...

So many DS games, so little time...
So I got an AceKard for Christmas, and I’ve decided to load it up with some games that I’ve been meaning to try or am unable to get since they are Japan-only. Some of them being:
Poupée Girl DS 2: Elegant Mint Style (I tried the first one and it’s super cute, I want to try the next one too!)
Inazuma Eleven (I plan on getting to the second and third games at some point, but I...

So I kind of want to watch that idiotic show,...
Just because I want to see how bad it is. I mean, really? SyFy is trying way too hard to jump on this entire “supernatural creature” bandwagon. I hope this fuels a fun rant to post on here, haha~ Who else is planning on watching it air tomorrow for the hell of it?

Min kropp är rädd, inte jag själv.: Hachikō →
promwolf:
In 1924, Hidesaburō Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo took in Hachikō as a pet. During his owner’s life Hachikō greeted him at the end of the day at the nearby Shibuya Station. The pair continued their daily routine until May 1925, when Professor…
I love reading about the story of Hachiko. ;3; It is so cute and attractive.

janedoe225:
you know without the sexist/racist tropes and hypersexual teenagers?
Sorry, no. =( I clinge (CRINGE!! Haha, my Engrish snuck out) every time someone tells me Glee is moderately realistic. Or that the fact that it’s unrealistic is what makes it attractive. “Escape from reality” and all that. *sigh*

Road trip tomorrow...
I’m finally going back to school, and I’m really pumped~ I can’t wait to be back with all my friends again, as much as I enjoyed my break, I can’t stand to be apart from schoolwork and roommates for too long. ;3; We’re going to see Tron: Legacy (much belated on my part, I wanted to watch it opening night, but some plans got in the way), and possibly go to some other...

Ring Light! →
I’m thinking of snatching up this affordable ring light as well, but I want to see more sample pictures taken with it before I take the plunge! Does anyone have something similar to this?
Ideally, I’d want a ring light like this, but it’s so expensive and I don’t have the money for that right now. D= It would make the really dynamic ring-shape reflected in the eye that...

Bokeh Kit! →
I finally did some searching around for things I’ve wanted for my camera for a while, and one of them is a cap to make the infamous Bokeh effect. ♥ I need to buy a short lens first though (or borrow my Dad’s, whatever hurrr), but it’s so cool~ Here is an example of what Bokeh can do:
I’m probably just going to make my own in the end, but the kit is so neat and clean and...

Dalai Lama on Conversion and Culture
Last fall, I was lucky enough to have a chance to see the Dalai Lama speak in person, and even luckier to be sitting literally in the front row with a close friend of mine and many of my peers. He spoke about a lot of things; peace, love, and most importantly, religion. I had read a few of his books before, and was familiar with what he believed in, but one thing he said really came as a surprise...
