California travel blog!
Posted on May/29/2012

I haven’t been to my hometown for longer than a week since I moved nearly ten years ago, and I am so happy to be there for nearly a month this summer! For this reason, I am making sure to go to all the spots I loved as a child, from Golfland to Chuck E. Cheese’s, trying out some fun restaurants, enjoying the stores, and of course, PURIKURA!!!

I’ll be leaving Wednesday, so after that it’s my goal to have daily updates of what I did/wore etc. So pumped!!

New home, dark floors.
Posted on May/26/2012

I haven’t been able to live in a single place for longer than a few months at a time, because of college, and now I hopefully have the chance to stay in the same place for nearly four years (if things work out). Now I’m so excited to roll up my sleeves and start going decorating crazy and make this place look like a home again.

Graduation.
Posted on May/12/2012 With 2 notes

For those of you who don’t know, I graduated.

I can’t believe it! I have a Bachelors in Arts in Sociology with a Psychology minor. A lot of people think it’s a useless major, but honestly, I have learned so many things and have so much knowledge I feel like a lawyer or a doctor need to be imparted with before going and dealing with their clients and patients. Especially those for other walks of life. I’m glad I chose this major, no matter what people say.

After this, I’m taking a year off, studying my ass off for the LSATs, and then going to law school! I’m not sure where I’m aiming for yet, but I don’t mind returning to my Alma Mater. I’d like to go back to the west coast though and settle down near San Francisco, like I’ve always dreamed, but things have been a bit more complicated now.

In other news, I’m reviving a domain name my father bought for me almost ten years ago, I can’t believe it! Soon this blog will redirect there.

Congrats to all the other students that will be graduating Spring 2012 or have already graduated! Celebrate, you have done well and achieved a privilege not many have.

Faux Queens.
Posted on May/8/2012 With 3 notes

I feel late to find this out, but I just found out that there is a prevalence (as well as such a thing as) a biologically female drag queen, or faux queen.

Now I know exactly how I’m going to define my fashion to people.

So I started playing Katawa Shoujo today.
I really like this game.
I hope this is true.

Well shit.

I feel like such an old fart, I like… Don’t take part in ANY fandom, I’ve realised. The closest I got was some Mahou Shoujo reblags sometime last year.

I mean… I fangirl a lot over A Song of Ice and Fire, but I don’t watch the television show (I WILL GET ON IT, I PROMISE), so most of the Game of Thrones blogs are really lost on me… Rrgh. I almost want to participate in a whily fandom!

Oh! And I REALLY LOVE Rupaul’s Drag Race!! …but I haven’t seen the latest season and I know that’s going to reach it’s end soon… Fuck…

I could possibly just be dying for an excuse to make an ask blog, because I love drawing reactions to questions. LOL *shot*

Maybe I shouldn’t… Do I really have the time for this?

URL Change?
Posted on April/22/2012

I’m debating on changing my URL soon because when I attempt to refer people to my blog, it is really hard spelling it out to them or simply telling them it because of it’s pretty complex pronunciation and punctuation. Of course, “etoile-et-toile” will still exist because I will probably leave it up to redirect people to my new URL (since all my old photos bear this watermark), but I think it’s about time.

The problem is, I have no idea what to change my URL to. I would simply just make it my name, but this is such an informal blog I’d rather not do something like that… I really need some suggestions. ;3;

Growing older with fashion.
Posted on April/15/2012 With 1 note

Sometimes I sit back and start thumbing through street fashion magazines or Lookbook and realise how fucking young a lot of these girls are, and then realise how much of my life I wasted worrying about what others thought. Nearing twenty-one at this point, and just starting my street fashion identity, I feel like I’m coming in so late! Not like it matters what age I am, but it just makes me so sad that I couldn’t muster up the courage to do it sooner.

I guess this is more of a message to the people who have spoken to me in the past asking me how I muster up the courage to dress in alternative fashion almost every day… Really, all I can tell you is “just do it.” Once you start, you recognise how amazing it makes you feel and you just start to dress for yourself and stop worrying about what people think, whether it’s your parents, your peers, and especially a random stranger on the street.

One thing I noticed now that I really started to dress up often is that people are not as repulsed by it as you may think. A lot of people are curious than not, and you start to read the crowd depending on your emotions coming into a situation. I know on particularly bad days for me, I feel like anyone who is laughing around me is laughing at me—but honestly, that isn’t true at all. On a good day, a lot more people approach me because I look approachable! It’s all about mentality.

I hope I can share my love of fashion for the world, slowly but surely, with my upcoming webstore and with updates to my LookBook. I hope you all support me!!

Starting my own small business…
Posted on April/14/2012 With 2 notes

…is certainly hard.

I found someone who is very interested in having me resell their clothing line in the US (given that they are a UK brand and are not very well-known in the US), but I am so confused about resale laws.

Within the state of Florida, I am required to present a “resale certificate” to any of my wholesalers so I would be tax exempt, but my wholesaler is charging me VAT (UK Tax) so I’m not sure if I’d even need to present this certificate.

Not to mention my whole business will be internet based, so I won’t be charging sales tax, although I will have to do income tax returns every year like a regular business owner.

I am just super confused and have no clue how this works and Google isn’t really helping. ;___; Do I have any people here who know what’s going on or know someone who is an accountant that can quickly tell me that I won’t be breaking any laws by not giving my wholesaler resale certificates?
